Andes iron pays courtesy visit to governor Cristóbal Juliá
During the occasion, the company also informed the top regional authority about the start of the processing of sector permits.
Pedro Ducci, CEO of Andes Iron, and Francisco Villalón, Corporate Affairs and Sustainable Development Manager, met with Cristóbal Juliá, Governor of the Coquimbo Region, following his public account, to extend a courtesy greeting and discuss matters related to the importance of mining for the regional economy and sustainable development of the area.
During the meeting, Ducci also informed the Governor that the company, whose investment exceeds 3 billion dollars and will generate 30,000 jobs during its construction, will soon begin the process of obtaining the more than 700 sectoral permits required for the project’s development. This follows the Environmental Court’s third unanimous ruling confirming that Dominga fully complies with environmental regulations.
“We are a company deeply committed to the region and its sustainable development. We have developed a socio-environmental proposal focused on people, the environment, and the economic growth of this area. Therefore, we want to begin this project with the utmost transparency and always in coordination with regional authorities,” said Francisco Villalón.
