Andes Iron statement

With humility and openness, we express our willingness to the Committee of Ministers to address any proposal that helps implement the instructions of the First Court of Antofagasta, always within the framework of the institutional framework.

The recent ruling by the First Environmental Court of Antofagasta instructed that, within 15 days, the Ministers’ Committee must reconvene to vote again on the Dominga Project.

Following this decision, numerous organizations from the Coquimbo Region, the Municipality of La Higuera, and workers across Chile—including the National Union of Chilean Contract Workers—have urged us to exhaust all avenues to ensure the prompt realization of the Dominga project.

In response, we express our humble and open willingness to engage with the Ministers’ Committee and to address any proposal that helps implement the Court’s instructions, always within the framework of institutional legality. We have consistently shown readiness to go beyond our Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) in terms of sustainability, embracing diverse proposals as part of an ongoing and dynamic effort. This commitment has been evident throughout the early public participation processes, during the EIA proceedings, and in our willingness to engage in dialogue when encouraged by the Supreme Court.

We trust in Chile’s institutions and remain committed to collaborating for the country’s progress, environmental protection, and social well-being. Dominga aspires to lead the transition toward Mining 5.0, grounded in a strong commitment to environmental sustainability. By integrating advanced technology with responsible practices, the project seeks to build a mining model that is efficient, future-oriented, and capable of significantly reducing the industry’s carbon footprint while contributing to environmental preservation.
